Biography
Martine Batchelor was a Zen Buddhist nun in Korea for ten years. She returned to Europe with her husband Stephen in 1985. She teaches meditation retreats worldwide. She is co-editor of Buddhism and Ecology and editor of Women on the Buddhist Path. She wrote Principles of Zen and Meditation for Life. Path of Compassion is her translation of the Chinese Bodhisattva precepts. Her latest forthcoming book is Women in Korean Zen. She is interested in meditation in daily life, Buddhism and social action, religion and women issues, Zen and its history factual and legendary. She lives in France.
